Q. James K, of New Jersey wants to know: "Do I have to pay to give my former spouse a Survivor Benefit? I'm
a member of the New Jersey State Retirement System."
A. Spencer Olsen of Pension Evaluators & QDROS Of Troyan, Inc Associates
Group, responds: "No. Troyan is now able to craft your Order, whereby either one or
both parties may assume all costs associated with the Survivor Benefit
election. Thus, any and all fees may be split pursuant to the Domestic
Relations Order we draft."
